Getting ThereAccess is highly challenging. Drive and park at the Torrey Pines Gliderport, then hike down a steep, rugged cliffside trail for about 20 minutes. Wear sturdy athletic shoes and check tide schedules to avoid getting trapped.

- Access trails like the Gliderport Trail are exceptionally steep, unpaved, and consist of unstable sand and crumbling cliffs. Flip-flops or unstable footwear are dangerous; high-traction hiking shoes or trail runners are mandatory to navigate the slippery descent safely.
- Because of the towering coastal bluffs, the beach falls into deep shadow long before actual sunset. The optimal window to photograph the coast and cliffs is 2:00-3:30 PM, when direct sunlight fully illuminates the gold-toned vertical rock faces.
