Overview

One of Savannah's historic downtown squares, laid out in 1815 and anchored by a bronze statue of General James Oglethorpe. Chippewa Square is best known worldwide as the filming location for the iconic bus-stop bench scenes in the 1994 film Forrest Gump, where Forrest recounts his life story to strangers while holding a box of chocolates.
