- Because both the Denver Zoo and the Denver Museum of Nature & Science are located entirely inside this park, weekends and holiday windows (9:30 AM–3:00 PM) bring severe vehicular gridlock along 17th Ave. Arrive before 9 AM or leverage public transit options.
- Open fires and charcoal grilling outside of pre-designated, built-in park grills are strictly prohibited. When picnicking near Ferril or Duck Lake, single-use plastic straws and loose film plastics are banned under local wildlife protection policies to protect local nesting birds.
