Travel Tips
- This is a top-tier outdoor botanical treasure of 140 acres, gathering tens of thousands of extremely rare desert plants from around the world, especially the most spectacular and tallest Sonoran Saguaro cactus forest in the U.S.
- The garden is entirely outdoors with almost no large air-conditioned indoor halls; if you visit in summer, be sure to enter right at the 8 a.m. opening, bring plenty of drinking water, and avoid the potentially deadly extreme heat waves at midday
- Every winter it holds the extremely stunning traditional "Las Noches de las Luminarias" light festival, when thousands of hand-lit candles cover the entire garden—extremely romantic

- It completely overturned my stereotype that the desert is only yellow sand and desolation! There are countless kinds of cacti inside, some like giant pillars, some like fuzzy caterpillars; the landscape design is extremely upscale and artistic
- The trails are laid out perfectly, 100% friendly to wheelchairs and strollers. Coming at night for their light event, strolling accompanied by a live jazz band, the atmosphere is superb

- Although the plants are beautiful, the ticket price is on the higher side among U.S. botanical gardens. Coming in summer really feels like strolling in an oven; even with sunscreen on, your skin feels like it's being scorched
