It is the largest amusement park in Nebraska, Fun-Plex began as “The Kart Ranch” in 1979 with just a go-kart track. Best TimeAn outdoor seasonal amusement and water park open only from June to August. Target a sunny weekday (Wednesday or Thursday) at 11:00 AM opening in July to maximize splash mountain water slides and go-kart rides with significantly shorter lines than summer weekends.
Getting ThereConveniently situated in southwest Omaha at 7003 Q St. Drivers should take I-80 to Exit 450 (72nd St), travel south for 1 mile to the junction with Q St, and turn right into the park's massive, neon-gated main parking court. Park entry stalls are completely free.

Travel Tips

  • Highly seasonal; open late May to Labor Day only. Mon-Wed operational windows often see major multi-story hydro-slides dark for maintenance, making Fri-Sun optimal for full ride access.
  • A zero outside food and beverage policy mandates scanning all carrier baggage at gates; rigid coolers, lunches, and sodas are entirely seized, excluding essential infant formulas.
  • The main lot at 7003 Q St is free; however, hydro-slides strictly outlaw board shorts or denim cut-offs featuring metallic rivets or exposed heavy zippers to prevent fiberglass scratching.

Reviews

Positive
  • Nebraska's premier comprehensive amusement paradise! Blending a classic Ferris wheel and wild mouse coaster with a fun water park, maximizing fun.
  • The upgraded lazy river and giant wave pool feature crystal-clear water, with a high density of attentive lifeguards keeping toddlers and children safe.
  • Highly convenient location right off a main traffic artery, boasting a massive, endless free public parking lot for an incredibly smooth driving access.
  • Pricing offers fair value compared to national mega-chains; a single ticket covers all water and land rides, making it a great family kid-hub.
Heads up
  • On sizzling summer weekends and holidays, crowd congestion can be exhausting; major water slides frequently command lines up to an hour long.
  • As an older outdoor theme park, some land rides like the go-karts and older coasters show faded paint and run with heavy, bumpy vibrations.
  • Concessions inside like fried snacks, popcorn, and sodas suffer from severe park premiums, making secondary spend expensive and clipping its peak value.
  • The volume of shade umbrellas and lounge chairs falls severely short of demand; finding a shady spot outside the pools at 2 PM is a massive struggle.
