Overview
Ghost Ranch is a 21,000-acre (85 km2) retreat and education center in Rio Arriba County in north central New Mexico, United States. It is about 65 miles northwest of Santa Fe and 14 miles from Abiquiu, the nearest community. In the later 20th century, it was the summer home and studio of artist Georgia O'Keeffe, as well as the subject of many of her paintings.

Getting ThereLocated at 280 US-84 near Abiquiu, NM. Driving is completely mandatory due to the remote high-desert coordinates: from Santa Fe, navigate north on US-84 N for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Pass through the village of Abiquiu and continue 14 miles; the main entrance gate will appear clearly on your left, offering a large complimentary open-air lot.

- Book day passes online via the official website in advance as there is no ticketing window on-site and absolute cell service blindspots require offline digital ticket access.
- Carry at least 2 liters of water and wear high-traction boots for the Chimney Rock trail in the afternoon due to extreme incline and total sun exposure.
- Drones are strictly prohibited across the private education retreat property; violating this aerial ban results in immediate expulsion and equipment confiscation.
