Best TimeAs an indoor resort, it is an excellent year-round venue, but it peaks in energy from May to August during the live Fonner Park horse racing season. Plan your visit for a Friday or Saturday evening between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM when the neon-lit gaming floors, live entertainment lounges, and upscale steakhouses pulse with the classic high-energy Midwest nightlife.
Getting ThereSituated within the landmark Fonner Park complex in central Grand Island. Driving is effortless: travel south from downtown along S Locust St, make a left turn onto E Fonner Rd, and pull directly into the resort's massive outdoor free self-parking fields or the dedicated valet lane. Easily accessible by local taxi or rideshare.
Travel Tips
- State law restricts gaming floor entry to individuals aged 21 or older; physical identity verification via native passport or US driver's license is required at all security vectors.
- Perimeter self-parking fields face heavy stress during the live horse racing weeks from February to May; high-volume RV setups must deploy to designated overflow berths.
Photo Tips
Photo Rules
- The property operates under intense federal surveillance; using digital capture devices near betting tables, cashier cages, or electronic slots prompts immediate property expulsion.
Reviews
Positive
- A brand-new modern entertainment hub; the gaming floor is spacious and bright, featuring a sea of the latest slot machines and diverse table games.
- The staff and live dealers are highly professional, patient, and welcoming, offering warm, gentle guidance on rules even to complete novices.
- The upscale modern dining inside serves stunning food quality with juicy, tender steaks and excellent cocktails, well worth the culinary spend.
- Management is highly orderly with visible security personnel effectively maintaining peace; the well-lit parking lot provides guests great safety.
Heads up
- As some expanded hotel wings and amenities are still under phased construction, temporary barriers are visible, slightly dinging resort completeness.
- Despite modern ventilation, during heavily crowded weekends, certain designated gambling zones still retain noticeable lingering tobacco smoke odors.
- Room rates spike severely during weekends or big event nights, dampening value, while the front desk check-in lines can become painfully long.
- For non-gambling families or travelers with young kids, there are very few non-gaming recreations on-site, making it less suitable for family trips.
