Jungle Gardens is a 170-acre (0.69 km2) botanical garden and bird sanctuary located on Avery Island, Louisiana (near the town of New Iberia). Jungle Gardens is open every day of the year, except major holidays. An admission fee is charged.

During this peak period, tens of thousands of Snowy Egrets return to nest at 'Bird City' inside the gardens, and spring azaleas bloom throughout the estate. Late afternoon after 4:00 PM is highly recommended to capture the silhouette of the 12th-century Buddha statue in the Chinese Garden against the sunset.
Getting ThereLocated on Avery Island, adjacent to the TABASCO factory. After crossing the island bridge via LA-329 S, turn right at the roundabout following the distinct orange signs for 'Jungle Gardens'. It features a 3-mile loop gravel drive where visitors can drive through, roll down windows, or park at designated spots to walk around.

- The driving loop has a strict clearance height limit of 12ft 8in due to low-hanging oak branches; oversized RVs must park and proceed on foot.
- The Bird City egret rookery experiences massive nesting from March to July; expect severe bird droppings and intense odors, making hats and umbrellas essential.
