Getting ThereSituated north of Atlantic Beach. Drive east to the very end of Wonderwood Drive, then turn left onto Wonderwood Lane to find the ranger gate. A small entry fee per vehicle is collected at the gate (cards accepted).

- Park gates close strictly to all incoming vehicle entry at 18:00 daily, preventing access past the automated barriers even for valid annual pass holders.
- Equip mountain bikes with wide, low-pressure tires and wear helmets on the 15-mile singletrack network to safely navigate deep sand pits and sharp, exposed pine roots.
- Extinguish all flashlights, phone lights, and camera flashes on the beach after sunset from May through October to comply with federal sea turtle nesting protection laws.

- The public restrooms and shower facilities are heavily outdated, dark, and frequently dirty with sand and stagnant water, showing a desperate need for a lot of TLC.
- The lake area is known to have alligators, meaning swimming is strictly banned there. Despite warning signs, visitors with small children or unleashed dogs may feel uneasy.
- Because of the incredibly dense tree canopy, cell service is near non-existent and Starlink internet dishes will not work due to blockages, leaving you completely disconnected.
- During summer, the bugs, mosquitoes, and no-see-ums in the wooded areas are ferocious; you will be eaten alive without heavy-duty bug spray, so long pants are recommended.
