Best TimeAn excellent indoor destination year-round for aviation lovers. Visiting right at the 10:00 AM opening is highly recommended; the early morning sun floods through the wide rolling hangar bay doors, beautifully lighting up the polished metallic bodies of operational vintage airframes, including a pristine WWII Bell P-63 Kingcobra.
Getting TherePerfectly positioned straight on the tarmac at Rexburg-Madison County Airport. Driving is very simple: from US-20, take Exit 333, head past downtown, and turn left onto Airport Road, following it to the terminus. The museum features a massive, complimentary asphalt parking field directly outside the hangar gates, easily accommodating large RVs.
Travel Tips
- Many historic warbirds hold certified airworthy status and regularly exit the hangar for regional flyovers; call ahead to confirm specific aircraft are present.
- The hangar shifts to private group appointment-only status from October through April; drop-in solo travelers during winter will face locked security gates.
