With its historic stone rustic cabins built by the CCC, it offers a deeply peaceful, rustic retreat perfect for camping, exploration, and reconnecting with nature.

Best TimeMid-to-late October is a premium time as the mountain boasts some of the best fall foliage in Alabama. Spring is also exceptional for catching wild azaleas and dogwoods blooming along the trails.
Getting TherePerched atop Monte Sano mountain just east of downtown Huntsville. Drive via US-431 North (Governor's Drive), turn onto Monte Sano Boulevard, and follow it up to the park gate. A small per-person entry fee is collected.
