Getting ThereSituated right on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Blowing Rock. Driving is straightforward: cruise along the Parkway directly to Milepost 294. The mansion and trailhead parking entrance is positioned directly off the highway, featuring an unpaved complimentary gravel lot.

- Flat Top Manor undergoes routine historic exterior preservation; interior ranger-led access is highly limited and must be booked on-site at the first-floor Craft Center. It closes entirely during winter months.
- The 25-mile Carriage Trails feature crushed gravel with moderate grades; they strictly prohibit all motorized vehicles and mountain bikes. Access is limited to hikers and horses; violations yield federal ranger fines.
- The nearest fuel and supplies are 2 miles away in the town of Blowing Rock; on-site facilities are limited to vault toilets near the Craft Center. Indoor access and fountains shut down at 16:00 daily.
