- The USS Wisconsin battleship deck is completely exposed to intense summer heat; metallic surfaces get extremely hot. For lightning safety, the entire outdoor top deck closes instantly and indefinitely during thunderstorm alerts.
- The battleship's lower interior quarters feature claustrophobic corridors and near-vertical metal ladders. There are no elevators; those with limited mobility, severe claustrophobia, or strollers should restrict their visit to the main deck.
