Overview
Coeur d'Alene's Old Mission State Park is a heritage-oriented state park in northern Idaho in the western United States, preserving the Mission of the Sacred Heart, or Cataldo Mission, a national historic landmark. The park contains the church itself, the parish house, and the surrounding property. Built in 1850–1853, Mission of the Sacred Heart is the oldest standing building in Idaho.

Getting ThereTucked into rural Cataldo; driving is mandatory. From Coeur d'Alene, drive east on I-90 E for about 24 miles, take Exit 39 for Cataldo, and make an immediate right onto Canyon Road. Drive less than half a mile, follow the state park flags to turn left onto Mission Road, and ascend straight up the knoll into the main visitor pavilion lot.

- As Idaho's oldest standing building, the interior contains fragile historic wattle-and-daub plaster walls; self-shooting extension poles and flashes are banned.
- The historical cemetery borders sacred tribal ground; walking is restricted to designated gravel paths, and stepping past wood barriers is highly illegal.
- The park requires a dedicated IDPR vehicle entry fee; federal National Park passes (America the Beautiful) are invalid for entry credit at this location.
