Drive up the switchbacks of Round Top Drive directly to the park gate; a structured, free paved lot is adjacent to the grassy manicured lawns. Note: Gates lock promptly at dusk.
Travel Tips
- Non-residents must pay a 7.00 USD parking fee per vehicle via an electronic kiosk or mobile system as cash is absolutely not accepted on site.
- Leave zero valuables or rental documents visible inside the vehicle as this isolated forested loop is a notorious hotspot for smash-and-grab break-ins.
- The park gate locks automatically at sunset; you must exit the driveway before 6:00 PM to avoid being locked in and towed at the owner's expense.

- The park hours are strictly enforced; every evening (usually around 6:45 PM or 7:00 PM depending on the season), staff lock the gate right on time, turning away anyone hoping to stay inside for night city lights.
- The lone public restroom at the summit is aged and basic; sanitary maintenance occasionally lags during evening peak hours, and the park interior has zero food, water, or vending setups.
- If encountering a sudden Oahu downpour or heavy low cloud layers, the entire peak is instantly swallowed by white fog, dropping visibility to zero and turning the lookout into a total 'catfish' block.
