Overview
Wind Creek State Park is a public recreation area located seven miles (11 km) south of Alexander City, Alabama, on the western side of Lake Martin, a 41,000-acre (17,000 ha) reservoir on the Tallapoosa River. The state park occupies 1,445 acres (585 ha) and is managed by the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

Best TimeEarly summer (May-June) and early autumn (September-October) offer optimal weather. The waters of Lake Martin are perfect for swimming and boating, mosquitoes are minimal, and the weather is ideal for camping.
Getting ThereLocated on Lake Martin near Alexander City, about a 50-60 minute drive northeast of Montgomery. Drive via US-280 East to AL-128 East directly to the park gate. A nominal per-vehicle entry fee applies.
