Brighton is a recently incorporated mountain town situated at the pinnacle of Big Cottonwood Canyon in eastern Salt Lake County, high within the rugged Wasatch Range. Originally settled as a timber cutting and summer tent camp in the mid-19th century, it naturally evolved into one of America's earliest cradles of winter sports, with Brighton Resort opening its first ski tow back in 1936. Known for its relaxed, unpretentious, and snowboarder-friendly alpine culture, the town is enveloped by spectacular granite peaks, deep glacial cirques, and dense pine forests, functioning as a year-round haven for outdoor enthusiasts.
