Cass is a meticulously preserved company town located in Pocahontas County, West Virginia, fundamentally defined by its rich railroading and lumbering history. Founded in 1901 by the West Virginia Pulp and Paper Company, it was built to house workers harvesting timber from the surrounding slopes. Today, the entire community functions as a living history museum under the protection of the state park system, taking visitors straight back to the early 20th century.
