Following the military expansion of the Gulf Coast during World War II, the city successfully transitioned, developing close ties to heavy maritime shipbuilding and defense aerospace contractors. Today, Gautier operates as a coastal sanctuary widely celebrated for its pristine preserved bayou wilderness parks, championship waterfront golf courses, and an active lifestyle centered entirely on Gulf Coast water exploration.
