Lovell is a charming agricultural community located in the northern Big Horn Basin of north-central Wyoming, near the Montana border. Settled heavily by Mormon pioneers in the early 1900s, the town has long sustained itself through sugar beet farming, ranching, and bentonite mining. Known widely as the rose town due to its beautifully manicured public rose gardens, Lovell is most notable to travelers as the western headquarters and direct access point for the immense, colorful canyon landscapes of Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area.
