About this city
Also known as: The Crossroads of the Northwoods
Located deep within the Northwoods of Wisconsin along the Elk River and a chain of connected lakes, Phillips serves as the county seat of Price County. Following a devastating fire in 1894 that completely destroyed the original logging town, it was rebuilt by a diverse mix of Czech, Slovak, and German homesteaders. Today, it serves as a serene gateway to outdoor exploration, surrounding pristine state forests and unique folk art.
