Originally settled in 1650 as a bustling river port and parish of neighboring Wethersfield, the town officially incorporated in 1843. Rocky Hill is internationally famous in the paleontological community for the accidental discovery of thousands of early Jurassic dinosaur tracks during excavation in 1966. Geographically defined by its rolling river valley terrain and dramatic basalt ridges, the town serves today as a thriving professional services and corporate center while maintaining its historical connection to the river.
