Roosevelt established the world's first comprehensive polio rehabilitation facility here and constructed 'The Little White House,' his beloved personal retreat where he tragically passed away in 1945. Today, the town preserves its mid-20th-century aesthetic, serving as an emotional hub for historical reflection, medical history, and rural commerce.
